ViRDI VS – R20 D Card Reader

VS-R20D is a dummy smart card reader used for access control and maintaining access logs. The card reader doesn’t store or authenticate smart cards but recognises their presence and sends a signal to the access control system, which in turn opens doors or activates other systems. They’re used in scenarios where authentication is not required, but it is important that the user doesn’t lose their smart card.   

For instance, it can be used in hotels for guests to turn on the electrical connection to their room. Guests will use their access cards, and when they leave, they’ll take the card along with them, ensuring that all electrical appliances are turned off when the guests are not in the room.
